Pre-Conference Workshop Organized by the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine

The Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine, in collaboration with the Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Lahore, organized a pre-conference workshop. The session was chaired by Prof. Zohra Khanum, Principal of SIMS, and featured an esteemed panel, including Prof. Aftab Ahmad (Medicine), Prof. Raffad (Medicine), Prof. Khadija Irfan (Endocrinology), Prof. Zahid Rafique (Nephrology), and Prof. Qasim Bashir (Neurology).

The highlight of the workshop was a talk by Prof. Aziz-ur-Rehman on “A Six-Step Approach to the Diagnosis and Management of Hyponatremia.” . In his presentation, Prof. Aziz-ur-Rehman underscored the challenges hyponatremia poses, even for experienced clinicians. Following the talk, three case scenarios were presented, engaging participants in interactive discussions to reach logical diagnoses and treatment plans.

At the conclusion, the expert panel, representing key specialties, summarized the session’s key takeaways.

The workshop was attended by approximately 150 participants, including postgraduate students, residents, and faculty members. The high level of interest was evident from the extended Q&A session. The presentation was met with enthusiastic applause from the chair, panelists, and attendees.
