Prof. Dr. Shafat Khatoon is a visionary physician, dedicated academic, and inspiring leader with over 21 years of excellence in internal medicine. She serves as Head of Internal Medicine at PIMS Islamabad and faculty at SZABMU and FMDC, where her commitment to teaching has nurtured hundreds of students now serving as consultants across Pakistan and abroad.
She is a Fellow of CPSP, Fellow of PSIM, Member of the American College of Physicians, and Supervisor of the Royal College of Physicians’ Emergency Medicine Foundation Program. With a Master’s in Public Health and certifications in Health Professional Education and Lifestyle Medicine, she has not only advanced clinical care but also helped shape policies, guidelines, and SOPs at multiple levels.
Her leadership shines through her role in the national dengue control program, her frontline service during COVID-19, and as a technical member of the Prime Minister’s Diabetes Prevention & Control Program.
As Islamabad Chapter Head of PSIM, she envisions a future of collaboration, innovation, and impact—through rare disease centers, climate-health solutions, and digital transformation—carrying forward PSIM’s legacy with passion and purpose.
