PSIM-KP Hosts Pre-Conference Workshop: "Respiratory Rescue: Breathing Life into Practice"


On 2nd January, the Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM), Peshawar Chapter, organized an outstanding pre-conference workshop titled "Respiratory Rescue: Breathing Life into Practice." This initiative provided a comprehensive learning opportunity for healthcare professionals, focusing on critical aspects of respiratory care.


The workshop featured expert talks on oxygen delivery systems, arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation in critical settings, spirometry, and the management of non-invasive ventilation (NIV). Participants also engaged in hands-on practice sessions on spirometry and NIV, ensuring a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical application.


The event was masterfully led by chief organizers Prof. Dr. Aamir Ghafur and Dr. Salma Zeb, whose dedication ensured the workshop’s success. Esteemed speakers included Dr. Jawad Hameed, Dr. Sher Ali Khan, Dr. Anila Basit, and Dr. Salma Zeb, while the hands-on sessions were skillfully conducted by Dr. Zafar Iqbal.


Prominent attendees, including Prof. Dr. Masood Ur Rehman, Associate Dean Dr. Riaz Ahmed Afridi, and Dean LRH Dr. Amir Muhammad, praised the initiative, highlighting its value for resident training.
